Who is Brian Lillie?

So, who is Brian Lillie? No one really. I'm just a guy who has been blessed with a career in wine. 

Born in Jackson, Michigan, I was brought up under modest means, sometimes impoverished. As a result, I learned to care for fellow humans and other species and to never take for granted what I've been given. I fell in love with the comradery of the wine industry globally and want to share it. I believe in low impact farming and low intervention winemaking and seek out producers like this to add to my portfolio. I also understand that each region has its challenges and need to make decisions that work for their complete sustainability. If the wine hits my mark of quality, I will share that too!

Wine has taken me across the world and shaped my philosophy on it and on life. It has introduced me to several cultures and opened my eyes to dozens of opportunities to connect with our fellow humans. Wine is intrinsic. It is part of every culture and every great civilization. Wine is intended to be shared whether it is with food, family, friends, sunsets, sunrises, music, and moments. Wine unites us. 

It's a time machine. When we enjoy a wine that we've tried before it takes us back to that moment when we had it for the first time. When we try a new wine, it introduces us to that new place. 

Wine is a historian. It can tell the story of the growing season, of the harvest, not only of the year we are presently in but of the past generations from when that vine was planted. It can tell us about the geological changes the Earth has experienced. It can provide wisdom from vintages past. 

It is a living thing. It ages like you and I do. It breathes. It gets sick. It heals. It matures and it dies. Wine connects us to all living things. It has the power to change the world.
